BYDE (Brisbane Youth Drama Ensemble)
BYDE (Brisbane Youth Drama Ensemble) are looking for people of the age between
12 up to early 20’s to Audition for the play “The Thwarting of Baron Bolligrew” - The Knights have killed all the dragons and now want to kick back and have a rest, except for Sir Oblong. The Knights send him to an island ruled by Baron Bolligrew, who has an agreement in place already with the residing Dragon.

BYDE are also looking for people of the same age to express their interest in having hands on experience and learning from their peers for the “Behind The Scenes” aspect of the show.

Cast
There are over 20 parts required in the play for male and female; non-speaking and speaking roles of varying ages. Some of the roles are -

• The Storyteller
• Duke and his Knights
• Sir Oblong fitz Oblong (the hero of our story)
• Baron Bolligrew (the Baron who must be thwarted)
• Squire Blackheart (Bolligrew’s evil offsider)
• Obidiah (A Peasant, a good man)
• Magpie (who loves stealing nice shiny items)
• Dr Moloch (a wizard in cahoots with Bolligrew)
• Mazeppa (A magpie - Dr Moloch’s familiar)

Crew
All behind the scenes aspects will be covered including –

• Stage Management
• Costume Design
• Set Design
• Lighting Design
• Directing
• Back Stage Crew

Audition Details

When: 19th July from 11:00 am

Where: Brisbane Arts Theatre Cottage, 210 Petrie Terrace Brisbane.

Audition Piece not required. Dress in Rehearsal Clothes – Workshops and Cold Read. Crew are required to audition at the same time.
