Ms Carol Burns
Having initially worked in theatre restaurant she was a
founder member of the Queensland
Theatre Company and has appeared in numerous productions
for that company recently including Bill & Mary - 2002,
A Conversation - 2003, Black Comedy and The Real Inspector
Hound – 2004, The Goat, or Who is Sylvia? and Oedipus
- 2005.
She is a lifetime associate artist of the Queensland Arts
Council and Patron of both The Independent Theatre, Eumundi
and The Fame Theatre School, Brisbane.
Having
played her part in the launch of Queensland's professional
theatre she moved
on to South Australia and subsequently to all the major
theatre companies across Australia.
She has also appeared in many productions in the UK starring
in the West End of London as well as in many provincial
centres.
Notable
among her films she starred opposite Jack Thompson in Bad
Blood directed by Mike Newell (director of Four Weddings
and a Funeral) and opposite Chris Hayward in Richard Lowenstein's
Strike Bound. Her most recent film appearance is as the
Chairman of the Parole Board in Gettin' Square.
Her
television career started with the ABC for whom she has
worked on many productions - most recently in Queen Kat,
Carmel and St. Jude - but her appearances date back to the
era of Play of the Month and, of course, she will always
be remembered for her Logie and Penguin award winning portrayal
of Frankie Doyle in Prisoner.
More recently Carol has been seen in Small Claims, The Day
of the Roses, The Love of Lionel's Life and in a Blue Heelers
guest appearance which earned her a 2001 AFI nomination.
In 2002 she was awarded the Perform/4MBS Award (female drama),
the Matilda award for best performance and direction and
the inaugural Alan Edwards Lifetime Achievement Award. In
2004 she was nominated for the Helpmann Awards in the category
“best female actor in a play”.
Carol
has also played many television roles in the UK where she
lived for a number of years with her husband, the composer
Alan Lawrence. She appeared there in The Bill, Taggart,
Hannay and Casualty along with others not seen in Australia.
Whilst in England Carol started to develop an interest in
directing - at first in the field of corporate videos but
more recently in the theatre.
Since her return to Australia her theatre directing credits
have included MoDD - Alpha, Romeo, Tango (2001),The Road
to Mecca (2002) and A Day in the Death of Joe Egg (2003)
for the Queensland Theatre Company and Playing Sinatra (2002)
Home (2005) for The Independent Theatre.

Sally Daly
Sally
has been working in Theatre for over 30 years. During that
time she has worked in all aspects of a production from
Backstage and Stage Management to Publicity, Front of House,
Acting and Directing. Sally has a Bachelor of Education
[Drama Major] from the Queensland University of Technology
and has worked as a Drama Teacher with the Queensland Department
of Education as well as with a number of private drama schools.
Sally
is the retiring Children’s Theatre Coordinator at
the Brisbane Arts Theatre having worked in the position
since 1999. She has recently worked onstage with several
other companies including Beenleigh Theatre Group and Sunnybank
Theatre Group.
As
an actor, Sally has appeared as Jenny Diver in “The
Beggar’s Opera”, Lily White in “On Our
Selection” and Annas in “Jesus Christ Superstar”,
to name a few. As a director, Sally has directed over 10
Children’s Musical including “Treasure Island”
as well as adult productions including “Music Hall”
and 5 Terry Pratchett shows.
Sally
is the co-author of 7 Children’s Musicals and, together
with her husband, has written over 100 songs for Children’s
Productions.
Sally
is a Life Member and current Vice President of the Brisbane
Arts Theatre.

Lynne Wright
Lynne Wright joined Brisbane Arts Theatre in the mid-60s.
In the past 40+ years her experiences have been extensive.
Her general statement is “I have survived actors,
directors and theatre companies both large and small”.
As an award winning actor and director she is well known
to Brisbane audiences.
Her credits include work with Paramount Pictures, Warner
Bros., Channels 7 and 9, Queensland Theatre Company, La
Boite and StageDoor Theatre Restaurant. As a performer Lynne
has worked in traditional theatre, theatre in the round,
theatre restaurant, musical theatre, film, television, street
theatre, special events entertainment and has toured both
nationally and state-wide. She is a past Board Member of
Arts Theatre; a past President of Playlab and Australian
Community Theatre; Artistic Coordinator of Arts Children’s
Theatre and founding Administrator of Ignatians Youth Theatre.
She is currently serving her third term as Artistic Director
for Brisbane Arts Theatre.
As
a writer she is co-author of “I Hear You Calling Me”,
the life story of Irish tenor John McCormack: work commissioned
by the Queensland Irish Association. She also wrote a theatre
column for a local newspaper over a 2-3 year period. In
2007 she co-wrote a show entitled “Anthems From 45rpm”,
a tribute to Australian Music from 1950 to 1987.
As
a director Lynne has bought to the stage near to 40 shows,
including: “Mame”, “Lola Montez”,
“Beggar’s Opera”, “Nunsense (1 and
2)”, “Fiddler On The Roof”, “Guys
and Dolls”, “Jesus Christ Superstar”,
“Pirates of Penzance”, “Grease”,
“The Gondoliers”, “Fame”, “Man
of LaMancha” and “Steel Magnolias”. She
has also directed a series of Agatha Christies’ plays
in the Performing Arts Complex at South Bank.
